Wallpaper Engine wants to run in the background and just be left alone. The fundamental issue is that Relive just has to completely ignore Wallpaper Engine. I did only test a single game, ETS2, and I haven't restarted my PC to see if the issue comes back for whatever reason. ![]() Even when I switch back to System Memory it records and replays fine. I then changed my Instant Replay Buffer from System Memory to Disk Storage and that appears to have completely fixed the problem. I tested pausing wallpaper engine and that fixed the green screen, but it came back when I resumed it. So I ran wallpaper engine again and tested replay, which gave me another green screen. Closing it fixed the green screen, but I decided to do some light testing. My green screen occurred only when using the replay function. I included wallpaper engine into my search which lead me here. The first result that came up for me when googling was a youtube video with a comment saying to close wallpaper engine, with at least 2 replies stating that fixed the issue. Second, wallpaper engine and Relive do seem to have some sort of conflict. As I explained above, it is very likely that AMD ReLive breaks when something specific is being rendered or active on the system rather than it being generally incompatible with Wallpaper Engine. For example, what wallpapers are you using while you experience this issue? Does it happen with ANY wallpaper type or just Video-based wallpapers for example?Ĭan you test if you can reproduce this issue while using the "Fantastic Car" default wallpaper? Make sure to only start ReLive after switching to the wallpaper not while you are recording.Īnd again, this issue appears to be rather widespread with AMD ReLive users. It could be, for example, that the issue is related to video codecs or similar on your system. Again, please do send me other examples of users having this issue with Wallpaper Engine so that I can see if there is a pattern with user's system or similar - right now I have basically nothing to work with here.Īdditionally, please test yourself what the extent of this problem is. I hope it makes sense to you that from my point of view, Wallpaper Engine is probably not the cause of the issue but rather simply a way to make the underlying problem with your local AMD ReLive surface. This doesn't happen with any other program, and i have hundreds.Īgain, you are the first person in 3 years to report issues with ReLive and it works perfectly fine on our test system and the system of other users. I don't remember any support requests via email or on the Steam Discussions and the only other post I can find is that one year old Reddit post which you have linked above (feel free to send me the "many other posts" that you mention in your opening post though, I am definitely willing to have a look and see if there is a hardware pattern or similar that we could look into).Įxplain why Relive resumes working perfectly when i turn off Wallpaper Engine then. Originally posted by Tim:We are not aware of any Radeon ReLive issues - it should work just fine. Again, ReLive works just fine in combination with Wallpaper Engine, there must be an underlying problem with your setup that causes this issue to occur while certain hardware accelerated content is being rendered. I would suggest you get in touch with AMD's support or look into the AMD forums for possible ways to fix this. However, this means Wallpaper Engine may surface this problem for affected users but it does not cause the problem. As far as I can tell, it looks like a problem in Radeon ReLive itself that may surface when 3D accelerated applications like Wallpaper Engine are running. However, if I just google "Radeon ReLive green screen", a ton of forums / reddit posts come up and none of them are linked to Wallpaper Engine as far as I can tell - which is a strong indicator that this issue is in Radeon ReLive itself.
